URGENT: PAC Positions Must Be Filled – Your School Community Needs You!

Dear Chantrell Creek Families,

Thank you for taking a moment to read this very important message from your Parent Advisory Council (PAC).

As we begin wrapping up the current school year, we’re already planning ahead — and that means we urgently need to fill key PAC executive positions for the 2025–2026 school year:

  • Chair

  • Vice Chair

  • Technology Coordinator

Without a Chair, the PAC cannot operate.

This means we lose over $35,000 in grants and funds currently in our account — money that supports critical programs and experiences for our students here at Chantrell Creek. It also means no more:

  • Hot Lunches

  • Spirit Wear

  • Movie & Game Nights

  • Book Fairs

  • Symphony Field Trips

  • Guest Speakers & Young Actors

  • Math Festival

  • Fruit & Veggie Program

  • Music & Library Support

  • Athletics & Track Support

  • End-of-Year Carnival

  • Kindergarten T-Shirts

  • Sports Day Popsicles

  • Classroom Funds for Teachers

  • Grade 7 Graduation Support

  • Elgin Scholarships for Chantrell Alumni

  • School Supply Ordering Program

  • Freezie Fridays

  • Computer & Laptop Upgrade Support

These initiatives through our PAC only happen because parents like you step up.

We know these roles can sound daunting — but you won’t be doing it alone. Support is available, and the Chair/Vice Chair role can be shared between friends. If you’ve ever thought of getting involved, now is the time.

You can find a copy of our PAC Constitution and Bylaws including a description of each role HERE

Please reach out to us at hello@chantrellcreekpac.ca if you’d like to self-nominate, ask questions, or learn more.

Spiritwear Recycling Program & Hot Lunch Volunteers Needed

Hey Chantrell Creek families,

Have a drawer full of spiritwear that’s two sizes too small? Or maybe you’re on the hunt for the next size up after that sudden growth spurt? Good news — we’re here to help!

This week, you’ll spot a cardboard box in the school lobby where you can drop off your gently used Chantrell Creek spiritwear. We’ll give them a loving wash and get them ready for new homes!

Then, the following week, it’s time to shop:

  • When: Wednesday May 7th & Thursday May 8th

  • Time: 2:30 PM – 3:00 PM

  • Where: Front doors of the school

  • Cost: $5 per item (seriously, you can’t even get a fancy coffee for that anymore!)

Whether you’re cleaning out your closets or gearing up for another year of school pride, we’d love your spiritwear donations — and your bargain-hunting spirit!

Also, we are in need of hot lunch volunteers for the remainder of this year. Our hot lunch program is coordinated by PAC and relies on your help to run smoothly. The students thank you for offering your time to give them such a special treat each week!

A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped out today for the Terry Fox Run. Your involvement allowed the students to run safely and made a significant impact on our school spirit.

Technology Fund Donations

You may have seen the new Technology & Playground Upgrade section on the Hot Lunch Ordering site. This year, PAC is asking families for a one-time $100 donation to help cover technology replacements (like classroom laptops and tablets) and future playground updates. If everyone pitches in, there won’t be any more fundraising for these items this year, allowing PAC to focus on fun events and boosting school spirit. Your support and generosity means so much to the students and staff!
